 a moment in time

 

in this moment

 

we are awake

open to our inner cosmos

step back and scan

we are not our thoughts

remarkably

 

in this moment

 

breathing is a simple blessing

grief is gently accepted

laughter has a warmth to share

nominal fears and terrors float along

remotely

 

in this moment

 

bells of hope and joy endure

self-doubts are spun with compassion

concern reaches out in care

unfailingly

 

in this moment

 

past is just a younger face

 future was a beautiful place

 

in this moment......

Geraldine Fleming

Geraldine Fleming retired early from an all-consuming career due to ill health. Bereft of purpose in her new life she found herself drawn back into past interests. This newfound freedom allows Geraldine to renew her interest in creative writing. She is a member of the North Coast Writers Group in Northern Ireland and enjoys writing both prose and poetry.
